My Ikigai, on behalf of a major Hotel Group, is seeking for a Procurement Manager. This is a full-time, year-round job based in Athens, with frequent short visits to the hotels’ destinations during the summer season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop viable, cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Work with key procurement software and systems.
- Evaluate existing procurement policies and procedures and update accordingly, while ensuring such procedures are followed by the associates of the department.
- Evaluate and select chosen suppliers using a set criterion such as quality, price, delivery, and sustainability.
- Manage contracts, including settling disputes and ensuring that a supplier meets expectations on quality, price, and delivery.
- Evaluate pricing proposals, monitor records, and pricing lists according to procurement policies. This includes assessing and anticipating the needs of various departments in a timely manner.
- Training and mentoring team members to enhance their purchasing skills and knowledge of best practices.
- Develop the procurement budget (OPEX, CAPEX), monitor the cash flow and review accordingly.
- Creation of purchase orders.
- Keep track of all goods and services ordered and received with a comprehensive inventory without overstocking. This includes tracking stock and managing reorder levels.
- Identifying potential risks associated with supply chain disruptions and developing contingency plans.
- Calculate all order costs and evaluate invoices for accuracy.
- Be up to date on current trends and innovations in the Tourism industry.
- Work closely with other teams for cross-departmental work.
- Coordinating the ISO quality system certification.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, cost control, or a related field within the hospitality industry.
- Degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field.
- Proficient use of MS Office; Familiarity with procurement and financial software is important.
- Strong understanding of the hotel industry, including its procurement processes, supply chain management, and cost structures, is essential.
- Effective time management, prioritizing, communication and negotiation skills.
