About Us

The Concept

Ikigai is a Japanese concept referring to a sense of purpose in life and a reason for being. One finds Ikigai when all aspects of their life come together and remain balanced. Our founder, Anthi Maneta, profoundly inspired by this concept, named her own quest for purpose “My Ikigai”, demonstrating a compound of her personal mission as well as her company’s mission.

The Bee in our logo precisely depicts this sense of purpose being the species with the highest sense of purpose of all. Bees are a keystone species, responsible for 1/3 of the food we consume, by serving as the most important pollinators, supporting biodiversity and helping all our natural ecosystems remain healthy and balanced.

Our Mission

People are the most important asset of a company. Companies are built by People. Ideas are generated by People. Execution is performed by People. The culture of a company itself is shaped and influenced by People. All great results are achieved by People and for People.

Thus, the purpose (the Ikigai in Japanese) of the company is:

Listen actively with no intention to reply and no intention to cause an argument. It does not matter if you are right or wrong. At My Ikigai, we are inspired and led by a humancentric mission for a humancentric vision. We believe in the impact our daily actions have. At the same time, we are results-oriented and we search for the “why” through data, metrics, statistics, analytics, evidence, observation and solid facts. We examine the current state of each project we undertake and suggest solutions that are feasible, respect and serve your hotel’s specific needs.

The principles of Lean Six Sigma constitute the key methodology we use in our services. It is a methodology which originated back in the 80’s and focuses on the efficiency and quality of processes in an organization. In fact, it has to do with two different toolkits and focus areas when it comes to analyzing the method, but the combination of both put into practice, makes it a super powerful problem-solving approach, that brings your organization closer to operational excellence. Lean Six Sigma has evolved to being not only a methodology, but also a philosophy and a way of business thinking.

At My Ikigai, we use this philosophy across all our services. Moreover, regarding services that have to do with process creation or optimization specifically, we utilize a collection of tools, measures and practices that this method offers us in order to add value to your hotel by:

Our Founder

Our Founder

Anthi Maneta has been serving the Hospitality Industry for more than 15 years now, with experience in several operational positions in 5-star Hotels. In addition, she has extensive experience in hotel openings and leading team empowerment projects, through her roles as Hotel Manager and HR Director in renowned hotel groups. She is a graduate of Management and Business Administration at the University of Patras and holds a Master’s degree in Services Management at the Athens University of Economics and Business. She is certified in Human Resources Management with the Cornell University and in Lean Six Sigma Methodology with the Kapodistrian University of Athens. She believes in lifelong learning and personal development that can be achieved not only through seminars and educational programs, but also through reading, traveling, observation, contact with nature and animals, and through deep, meaningful conversations and interaction with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Everything is connected and they all have something to teach you.
